TOUR OF MACHU PICCHU (ALL DAY)

DESCRIPTION OF MACHUPICCHU:

In the midst of a tropical mountain forest on the eastern slopes of the Peruvian Andes, Machu Picchu’s walls, terraces, stairways and ramps blend seamlessly into its natural setting. The site’s finely crafted stonework, terraced fields and sophisticated irrigation system bear witness to the Inca civilization’s architectural, agricultural and engineering prowess. Its central buildings are prime examples of a masonry technique mastered by the Incas in which stones were cut to fit together without mortar.

ITINERARY:

Cusco- Machu Picchu-Cusco

Pick up from your hotel at 5:00 am. We will leave the city of Cusco together and travel to the town of Ollantaytambo in our private van. All along the way on our journey of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, we will see breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, snow-capped mountains, lagoons, villages and the rushing Urubamba River. Next you board the train that will take you to the town of Machu Picchu Pueblo. Your highly trained and experienced guide will be waiting for you when you get off the train. Then you will board the bus which will take you up to the ancient Incan Lost City of Machu Picchu.

You will have a fantastic guided tour of approximately 2 hours, and after that there will be free time to explore these incredible Incan ruins on your own before you return to Aguas Calientes (Aguas Calientes is also called Machu Picchu Pueblo). There you will be able to eat a nice lunch amidst the beautiful jungle scenery before you board your train back to the town of Ollantaytambo. Our driver will be awaiting you there, and will take you back to the city of Cusco in our private vehicle. The tour ends at approximately at 8:30 pm. when we drop you off at your hotel.
