Then you will get to know what makes modern Lima tick today. Visit the best neighborhoods, enjoy the best food, and feel the pulsing energy of this great South American capital city and take you to all the major tourist attractions in Peru the Capital of the Inca Empire, Cusco. Cusco was the center of the vast Incan Empire. It is the oldest continually inhabited city in the Americas. Cusco is such a unique city! The architecture of Cusco is a blend of ancient Incan walls that have medieval Spanish Barroque churches built on top of them. There is no other place like Cusco, the Belly Button of the World. And even more marvelous than Cusco is the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is One of the Seven Wonders of the World. The European invaders never found this Incan Citadel. It was covered over and hidden by dense jungle vegetation until it was re-discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911. This fabulous site was constructed in an awe-inspiring location, and you can see it just the way the Incas left it, 500 years ago.

After visiting the marvels of the Cusco area, including the magnificent Sacred Valley of the Incas, you will follow the Route of the Sun to the magical, sapphire blue Lake Titicaca. This Lake is over a hundred miles long, and it is the highest navigable lake on the planet. The Lake’s history is shrouded in legends. You will be amazed by the islands and by the friendly people who live on these islands out in midst of this watery wonderland.

The fabulous White City, Arequipa, will be next on your agenda. This beautiful metropolis is called the White City because the principle buildings were all built out of the white stone (sillar) that is mined out of the snow-covered volcanoes which tower over the city like guardians spirits. Outside of Arequipa is the deepest canyon in the world, the Colca Canyon. When you reach the edge of this incredible gorge, you will stop at the Cross of the Condor overlook where you will be able to view, up close, wild condors in flight.

Finally, discover the magic of Peru’s vibrant capital city, Lima. Here you will be able to tour Colonial Lima. Lima was actually founded by the Spanish Conquistador, Francisco Pizzaro, during the early part of the 16th century. And you will get to feel the present-day rhythm of this modern coastal city, which is by far the largest city in the country. Visit the best neighborhoods, enjoy the best food, and feel the pulsing energy of this great South American capital.

There you can let the healing volcanic water soak away any aches and pains that you might have. We will stay the night in Chivay.
